Welcome to the
World of John Williams |
Hi Everyone, August 7, 2006
So how many times have you answered the question, "How was your
CRUISE!" At first I welcomed the chance to tell our stories. Now
I think - Do I give them the short, medium or long version? With
or without photos? There's so much to say!
First, on behalf of Brenda and yes, even my boys, thank you to
everyone in our group! What great travel companions you all
were. We so very much enjoyed your company. Our travels,
dinners, cocktail parties and photos were all richer and more
enjoyable thanks to you. Really, let's do it again!
Our personal highlights include Estonia, Visby and, of course,
St. Petersburg. The art, the canals, the people (including the
boy on the bridge - Russia's foremost capitalist), the palaces
and Hermitage and all the small details - the cars, subway,
fashions, signs and so on.
As for The Navigator, we were happily surprised to see how large
our room was. (And this was the 9th deck, 350-sq. foot room, not
one of those King's Suites. Sometimes, you have to face the fact
that you are, in fact, not King.) The details, the bathroom, the
stocked refrigerator, the view out our deck - it was just much
more than we expected. The boys thought room service and the
ping pong table were a nice touch and who am I to argue? Ice
cream and a cheese burger? Yes sir, of course, absolutely.
Our souvenirs include nesting dolls, vodka, a CCCP T-shirt, a
shirt with a picture of George Bush that, in Russian, says
something about "bringing democracy to YOU," a KGB cap, a water
color purchased from a street vendor (it is "genuine!") and
dozens on photos.
Take a look at these snap shots and feel free to write me
anytime. You are all special people to us. Together we cruised
the Baltic!
Thank you to Nancy Kelly and the staff at Kelly Cruises. I hope
you all enjoyed the trip as much as we did and I hope we can do
it again.
Sincerely,
John, Brenda, Grant and Griffin
